For the first time, women outnumber men in the New York Philharmonic — an all-male ensemble for most of its 180 years. 27 of the 30 violinists are women!
City Winery New York and WRITERSREAD present “Women In Music,” as the spoken word component of Carnegie Hall’s Spring Festival of the same name.
Tony Award® winning lyricist and book writer Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime, Once On This Island, A Man of No Importance, Anastasia) and singer/dancer/actor Mamie Parris (Cats, School of Rock, On The 20th Century, Ragtime) complete a cast of 12 writers performing personal stories of women who impact the song of life.
